Abstract

Among the peasants of the Ecuadorian highlands, it is common for them to maintain as an integral part of their agricultural production systems, both minor animal species such as guinea pigs, chickens, pigs and even larger animal species such as cows, horses and others. Agricultural crops and animal species are fundamentally part of the idiosyncrasy and culture of rural Andean families.
