Abstract

Hydroelectric energy has been for years the source of energy par excellence in Ecuador; Despite the fact that in dry periods the generation of energy becomes complicated and it is necessary to resort to thermoelectric plants that are highly polluting for the environment. Faced with this aspect, the tireless search for new forms of cheaper and cleaner energy is a task in which many countries find themselves, and ours cannot be the exception.
